Online = data in the public archive within the last 2 hours. RSAM = mean absolute amplitude of the vertical channel over the latest 10 minutes, in raw counts (a rough noise level, not comparable across sensor types). Station list: shakes.json.

How this works / run your own

How this works

  • Station list from the free Raspberry Shake FDSN web services (network AM), filtered to stations inside Idaho.
  • Your browser downloads the newest few minutes of data for each station directly from the public archive at data.raspberryshake.org and computes status and noise level. It re-checks every 10 minutes.
  • The public archive runs roughly 30 minutes behind real time, so “last data” is usually about half an hour old even for healthy stations.

Run your own (free, real time)

  • rsudp: Raspberry Shake’s open-source tool for live plots and alerts from your own Shake.
  • Swarm: USGS software for viewing and analyzing seismic waveforms in real time.
  • SeisComP: full open-source seismic network processing (acquisition, picking, locating).
